The Role
A secondary school in Sandwell is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join their department from September 2026 on a part-time supply basis (4 days per week).
The successful candidate will teach Music across KS3 and KS4, following the Eduqas Music specification at GCSE level. You will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ practical performance skills, compositional techniques, listening abilities, and understanding of a wide range of musical styles and genres.
Working with both lower school and examination classes, you will support students in preparing for their coursework and assessments, encouraging creativity, confidence, and musical expression. The role will involve planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing progress, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
  • Hold QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification); ECTs are welcome to apply
    • Have experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4
    • Be familiar with the Eduqas GCSE Music specification
    • Be confident delivering both practical and theoretical elements of the curriculum
    • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
    • Be committed to supporting student progress and achievement
    • Have a passion for music education and inspiring young people through the performing arts
