JOB DESCRIPTION
A Production Operative plays a key role in the manufacturing process by carrying out various tasks on the production line. This role involves assembling components, operating machinery, and ensuring the efficient and accurate production of goods.
QUALIFICATIONS
There are no formal academic entry requirements, though some employers may require GCSEs/S grades. Some employers may set dexterity and aptitude tests for entrants. Normal colour vision may be required for some posts. NVQs/SVQs at Levels 1, 2 and 3 are available in a variety of areas.

- Handle raw materials and components for assembly..
- Identify and address any defects or discrepancies during the production process..
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency..
- Maintain accurate records for reporting and compliance..
- Mentor new team members as needed..
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary..
- Operate machinery and equipment as part of the production process..
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on production techniques..
- Perform assembly tasks on the production line according to established procedures..
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and tools..
- Provide feedback to supervisors for continuous improvement..
- Report any equipment issues to maintenance personnel..
- Set up workstations with the necessary tools and materials for production tasks..
