JOB DESCRIPTION

An Office Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized office environment. This role plays a crucial part in creating a professional and comfortable workspace for employees and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS

No academic qualifications are required. On-the-job training may be provided. Vocational qualifications in Cleaning and Support Services Skills are available at Levels 1 and 2.

TASKS

  • Clean and sanitize office desks, tables, chairs, and other furniture..
  • Dust surfaces and remove fingerprints or smudges to maintain a neat appearance..
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum office floors to remove dust and debris..
  • Clean and sanitize carpets and rugs as needed..
  • Empty rubbish bins and replace liners..
  • Dispose of waste in designated receptacles following established procedures..
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, appliances, and countertops..
  • Wash dishes and utensils, ensuring cleanliness in breakroom areas..
  • Clean and sanitize bathroom fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors..
  • Refill dispensers with soap, tissue, and other bathroom supplies..
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to ensure a streak-free and clear appearance..
  • Dust surfaces, furniture, and fixtures to remove accumulated dust and cobwebs..
  • Maintain and clean cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and window-cleaning tools..
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to supervisors..
  • Respond to spills and accidents promptly to prevent slips and falls..
  • Follow established protocols for handling biohazardous materials if required..
  • Undertake special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning or organizing office spaces..
  • Ensure that safety signs and labels are clean and visible..
  • Assist in maintaining an organized system for office equipment labelling..
