JOB DESCRIPTION

A Bendi Forklift Truck Driver operates Bendi forklifts, also known as flexi or articulated forklifts, to lift, move, and position materials within warehouses or storage facilities. This role requires precision in manoeuvring the Bendi forklift, efficient material handling, and strict adherence to safety regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

There are no formal academic entry requirements. A variety of vocational qualifications in Forklift Truck Operations are available at Level 2.

TASKS

  • Operate Bendi forklift trucks to lift, lower, and move materials within storage racks or shelves..
  • Manoeuvre the articulated forklift in narrow aisles and confined spaces..
  • Load and unload materials onto/from storage racks or shelves using the Bendi forklift..
  • Transport goods to designated locations within the warehouse..
  • Assist in counting, sorting, and organizing inventory in the Bendi forklift storage system..
  • Update electronic inventory systems to reflect movements accurately..
  • Familiarity with and operation of automated or semi-automated racking systems..
  • Ensure proper placement of materials in the designated storage locations..
  • Adhere to strict safety guidelines for Bendi forklift operations..
  • Conduct pre-use inspections and report any equipment issues promptly..
  • Communicate with warehouse personnel to coordinate material movements and storage..
  • Use communication devices or systems as required..
  • Load and unload trucks with the Bendi forklift, ensuring secure and balanced loads..
  • Verify shipments against delivery documents..
  • Perform basic maintenance checks on the Bendi forklift, including battery charging and visual inspections..
  • Report any mechanical issues for timely repairs..
  • Inspect materials for damage or irregularities during loading, unloading, or movement..
  • Report any quality issues to supervisors..
  • Maintain Bendi forklift operator certification as required..
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on safety practices..
