Youth Justice Support Officer, South East
Pay rate £26-28 per hour
Contract role – Youth Offending Service - Full time, 37 hours per week with mandatory weekend working , Weekends are 7 hours shifts either 9am-4pm or 3pm-10pm - shifts are shared with another worker so they can agree the rota jointly, Weekdays to make up the rest of the 37 hours can be flexible and agreed between 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday, Hybrid working - based on the needs of the children. Weekends would be WFH unless the need to see a child on a home visit or to attend Aylesbury Police Station (this is the predominant ask as we provide a service of response of 90 minutes from a phone call from the Police to see a child in custody suites). Weekdays would be based on service need. On average we work 2-3 days out of 5 in the office (two locations which are Aylesbury and High Wycombe). Lone working - we have a lone working policy. Home visits and community visits are single visits unless risk assessed to need 2 workers. Staff have a lone working device that will be provided – this is in line with most social work and youth work practice. As a member of the multi-agency Youth Offending Service to case manage low, medium, and high-risk young offenders.
