The role plays a key part in ensuring incoming parts and materials meet required specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
The successful candidate will support day-to-day quality inspection activities, contributing to customer satisfaction, compliance, delivery performance, and cost control, while adhering to health and safety and corporate procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming components and materials to verify correct quantities and compliance with purchase orders
- Ensure components meet required quality standards and specifications
- Liaise with relevant internal departments to support efficient booking-in and material flow
- Maintain accurate quality records, documentation, and filing in line with company procedures
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits when required
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with 5S principles
- Participate in quality and QHSE activities, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
- Undertake training to ensure compliance with regulatory, legislative, and corporate requirements
- Provide support across other areas of the materials management function, including kitting, stocktaking, and dispatch
- Be flexible and willing to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as business demands require
- Travel occasionally for work purposes, including overnight stays where necessary
Essential:
- High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and CAD drawings
- Experience using measurement equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and other inspection tools
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to changing priorities
- Computer literate, with basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (training provided)
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and professional with a proactive “can-do” attitude
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills and sound judgement
- Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
- Previous experience in a quality inspection or engineering manufacturing environment
- Flexible and adaptable
- Calm and methodical under pressure
- Quality-focused with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Strong work ethic and positive approach to teamwork
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:45
- Friday: 08:00 – 12:00
- Overtime, including evenings and weekends, may be required depending on business needs.
